News from Spring/Summer 2010
Hot - and it's hectic!
This is one of the busiest periods I can remember! I'm juggling various exciting and inspiring events, from talks at the truly riotous and exuberant Tapas Fantasticas Rioja street fair (London, late June) to the tasting lectures at the lovely harbourside Bristol Wine & Food Festival (alongside fellow wine experts Charles Metcalfe, Tim Atkin, Fiona Beckett and Sarah Jane Evans, first weekend in July), while judging the prestigious Louis Roederer wine writing awards, and keeping up with my regular columns. Oh, and writing a book, to be finished by Christmas and appearing in Summer 2010. Phew!
After this Summer's events are over, I'm looking forward to concentrating on the book, some new shoots for Saturday Kitchen, and starting a regular wine blog. All details will appear here. Enjoy the weather, and hope to see you at a food fair over the Summer!
* Saturday Kitchen with James Martin: I'm filming for the current series at various moments this Spring, see previous page. Tune in for lots of food and wine matching tips! My first new shoot of the autumn will be first week of September.
* Columns still going strong on Delicious magazine and of course the Sunday Telegraph's lovely Stella magazine...
* For Spring events and shows, please see previous page. There's plenty, plenty, plenty going on including recent confirmation of a new date at the ever-scrumptious Dart's Farm...
* Look out for my new quarterly column in the wonderful National Geographic magazine. It's on all things 'green' in the drinks world and appears in the National Geographic Green section, edited by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall.
* The writing isn't only on a national basis - look out for my fairly new column in Food magazine, published here in the west country. If you live in Devon. Cornwall, or Somerset, including Bristol, look out for gorgeous Food mag... or go to www.food-mag.co.uk for more. It's a must-read for anyone in this neck of the green woods...
* MOST EXCITING OF ALL - I'm just embarking on a major new book for Mitchell Beazley, due out in Spring 2011. This has been under wraps for some time, but I hope to be able to tell you all about it very soon... watch this space.
